Mother, A Legend

Well I have been engrossed in "Discovery Channel" of late. In fact to be truthful a dose  of about  13 hours of Wild Discovery In the  last three days. I also saw a movie "Apocalypto" Star Movies after the 9 pm movie, if you might have guessed it.
Now what i saw common in both the modes of entertainment would be Parentage. Yes Motherhood is something that I have set out to write on today. A topic in which I am least versed with. Now let us get straight at the topic.
"Mother", "Ma" , "Mummy", "Mom" or even "Mambu" as one of my friends calls , is perhaps the commonest word in the Universe. The first word that escapes as a mumble hum from the toddler. So the fact that comes in is what makes the common special.
The fact that I witnessed long enough , but it has always fleeted my notice is that Mothers, be it an alligator mum , or full grown Tigress, when comes to handling babies surely follow the "Handle With Care" rules. So is it the wilderness that I am gonna focus well no, surely not.
Motherhood is perhaps something that is special to every girl. The magnitude of the emotion is unexplainable on the context of me being just an eighteen year old person , too immature to deal with the intricacies so deep.
The point we never realize the specialty is because we are used to it. Just like the fact that your dad might be the President of United States might overwhelm you, but Sasha and Malia will surely take it as stride in their paths. So the fact that there is someone who is perhaps the most special person in our lives goes unnoticed with each passing hour.

Now to venture further in....

I might not be sounding convincing at all, but now let me disclose the reason which actually inspired me to write this....

A pregnant tribal woman with her five year old, surviving in a crevice awaiting her captured husband's return might just seem cliche in a movie, but that's where Mel Gibson's brilliance steps in. The survival instinct of a woman is special in the way that its triggered by the danger of her off springs rather herself. The eyes showed the intensity , the animal instincts of survival , of protection , of care and tender love when dealing with her kids. May be its the hardship of labor that makes them so special, so unique , that it makes moms take the highest rung in the food chain.

"Survival of the Fittest", a radical theory proposed by Darwin ,which has always been unchallenged in the animal society. But the secret behind it's success again are mothers ,who make it possible, at least in most of the cases.
Well if someone asks the few things which are indispensable , "Mum's" would surely top the list.

Now it's not something that I am telling which I really felt so deeply. May be I will still not listen to my mom on the dining table. Still irritate her about the food, about my clothes. Still not talk to her about my exams, or even ignore her if she asks me clean my room. But the fact remains, that this post is because of the fact that of late I was inspired. Inspired by the fact that a relation can be so special, a bonding so deep , so great and so pure....

This post is surely not up to my personal standards. Yet I wont scrap it. May be I ventured too far. It's beyond me. Perhaps too difficult for me express myself.  So my humble apologies!!!!

A Different Feel by Osibek Pal on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 2:50pm  To, Manimanjari Sengupta THIS IS NOT A TRANSLATION OR AN INTERPRETATION OF THE SONG, ITS THE ENGLISH VERSION , OF " BECHE THAKAR GAAN" ORIGINAL VERSION BY ANUPAM ROY, WRITTEN IN THE SAME THEME, HOWEVER THERE ARE SOME OBVIOUS DIFFERENCES IN THOUGHT, FOR THE SAKE OF RHYME SCHEME, LET ME KNOW HOW YOU LIKE THIS VERSION...   Force me to forget a paintbrush..  And learn just light and dark..   Remember ,I wont comply...  Wont Pragmatise life, if you ask...     Banish me from your life's tell tale...  I wouldn't complain.... But ask me to justify my love...   I wouldn't , not if I am slain..     Cause, I have seen it all, known it all...  Quick sand, is not just for the beaches...  It has drained life, breath, blood and love,  let alone petty riches..     Cause, I have seen it all, known it all, ti...

A Blessing In Disguise

Across the streets he was pacing away…dodging all those passer bys…Peopl e watching in amazement...What’s come over this boy today …The tiny limbs covered very sm all distances..yet he was running…panting , sweating profusely…but he was happy today , very happy….The chemists shop was still a couple of crossings away…But he seeme d possessed… The rugged clothes waving in the fury o f his flight… The hawkers were calling him…”Where are you going “? But he seemed too much in haste to bother….’Dua’, A Ble ssing was too happy today…. The fourteen year old had got his first s alary…One thousand rupees…He had enough to buy the bottle of medicine for his ailin g mother…. What an irony in the name itself…May be all the little he had…the only thing m issing was a Blessing itself…. “Ma, Moi tonic aichi !” She turned from the bed, weak and looked at her little..he was all she had…She had lost everything from her husband to her house , wealth everything had been snatched from her...

Just forget It!

Yippee! I have seemingly discovered one more truth about life..You might just say...hey this boy is crazy..how come he realises something everyday...But its not that..it just a self realisation that i quite excited about... I have been officially warned a large number of times to control my over exuberant side..remember writing 5oo lines on an occasion in school for being over enthusiastic...but ever since I have learnt to do it in a wiser way..or So as i call it... Now coming back to the point...As I said i have realised something.... Now i need to give a situation.... Its about a someone...who notices nothing in a mirror but himself...Of couse one would say..what else do you see in a mirror...But i have realised that there are many things that one can actually see, in the mirror... Its no more of "Mirror mirror on The Wall...Who is most Beautiful of them all" but its more of the transition that man or woman has over age.... How different a man or woman can become with every...
